I am running AVG anti virus with Vista premium. When I first loaded the software onto the system it worked fine, however a couple of days ago it stopped loading automatically at start up and to get it running i have to kick it into life by double clicking the programme icon within the start menu. Alongside this IE7 has packed up, when I try and run it I get a message stating that it's stopped working (thanks for stating the obvious Microsoft). I am then informed that I will be notified if or when a fix is available. Interestingly if I go to programes> IE7>right click> run as administrator, it works. Has anybody any idea whats going on and how I can cure it. I am using Firefox which runs without problems and you could argue that I should stick with it but I don't like things that don't work properly.
Try uninstalling AVG? then try IE7, then re-install it. Also, a great alternative to using IE7 or Firefox is Opera, allot better than both of them, just keep firefox for things that dont work with Opera.
Thats practically Firefox with a mail client lol, i never really knew Opera had a mail client, i use Office Outlook 2007
can't remember, a long time since i used seamonkey[ot]i think seamonkey is a bit different from FF (if i remember correctly)[/ot] yeah, to set it up click on menu Tools > Mail & Chat Accounts[ot]opera's mail client uses a strange filtering system, i personally didn't like it[/ot]
Thanks for the all the input, I used Willz idea of taking off AVG and puting it back on, fior some reason it didnt work the first time but second time round it's working okay. Having done all that I do like Firefox and will stick with it for a while.
