So I still dont have cable but I was able to still a DSL source for 20 min to dl the patch and save it on a cd. I have gotten it to my desktop but when I try to open it my computer thinks for a minute then just stops. It has the wizard icon on the file but just doesnt run. Any ideas?? O and its the latest bf2 patch which is 1.3 or something like that.
There are incremental patches and full patches available for Battlefield 2. The incremental patch is about 83Mb where the full patch is about 438Mb. The incremental patch requires BF2 already patched to version 1.22. If you haven't got patch 1.22 installed beforehand, download that first. Maybe you've gotten a bad download, it happend to me before on several occasions. Your only choice then is to bite the bullet and download it again. There could be antivirus software or other programs running in the background causing a conflict with the installshield wizard program, try disableing that and see what happends. I hope you find a solution, Good luck M.
I have already tried disabling my antivirus and it is not the incremental patch its the v1.3 448mbs or w/e.
yeah mate, bad patch downloads happend to me too a couple of times. maybe u should just wait for your cable to arive anyway, coz single player BF2 is whack...... if u also bought any of the expansion packs for bf2 make sure you install them before you install the patch! good luck with your download (and the game, coz ive had sooooooo many problems trying to get it to work when i first got it!)
Yeah I think I will just wait for cable before I mess with this problem anymore. I heard BF2 single player wasnt much but it was suppose to hold me off until I got cable.
There is problems with the incremental patch, other users have experienced problems with it. Get the full one and it should work.
Actually, I find that one my friends' and my own system, the patching process seems to 'freeze' because it does nothing for the longest time on screen (no progress movement, just stuck at whatever percentage for 15 - 20 minutes roughly). Eventually, it comes out of it and the percentage jumps really high. The update finishes in a matter of minutes after that. I don't know, maybe that is what you're experiencing? How long have you let it run out before ctrl-alt-del or taskkill?
Did you work out that problem you were having? You haven't posted anything on this subject anymore. Or are you having such a blast with BF2's single player mode (which I highly doubt) Greetings
Well actually I got cable and then went to install BF2 again and it didnt work so now that is my problem. Pretty bad luck eh
