Is there a best time to buy a PC for the best price? After Christmas, during slow winter, in the summer?? I know that on many consumer products--Autos, appliances, yard furniture, etc--there is a best time of year to buy such items, as the cost will be lower.

Does such a time exist for PCs??

Not really. It depends on what parts you want. Right now, the older Socket A setups will be cheaper, simply because they're old news, while Socket 939 systems are going to be fairly pricey because they're pretty new.

There's really no 'season' for PC stuff, but since Christmas is coming up, you can expect to see some deals on some items. But, then again, that's pretty universal, no matter what the goods are.

Some retailers do have offers on during christmas, but some just as easily put prices up slightly because they know people are going to be buying at xmas.

There are usually some good offers leading up to christmas but there isn't really a particular part of the year. Try after christmas aswel in the january sales
