TBH I don't even know what they do but I'm pretty sure they are fairly important so here's my question.

Upgrading my laptops memory since 2 GB isn't good enough for me and I got such a good deal on the open box that I had to get it anyway. Searching for some new memory and I've come between 2 GSkill models, both are the same priced (or close enough that I don't care), but one has heat spreaders with 5-5-5-15 and the other has no heat spreaders with 4-4-4-12, just no sure which is better.

    Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory - Laptop Memory

    Thanks!

There is too much difference when it comes to performance but 4-4-4-12 would be faster.
