I just put together a Shuttle SG31G2 barebones system, installing an Intel Celeron 440 (35 watts) CPU. PC Wizard shows a CPU temp of about 50C, but the Shuttle BIOS shows a temp of about 32 or 33 degrees (and I am getting the readings within 30 seconds of each other after letting the computer run for an hour or two). Obviously, I had to reboot to get the BIOS reading after getting the PC Wizard reading, but the processor should not have cooled down by 27 or 28 degrees in 30 seconds. Which reading should be the most reliable? I assume both the BIOS and PC Wizard are getting the data from the same source, so I don't understand the difference.

Does anyone know what the "typical" cpu temperature should be on a Celeron 440 at idle?

    Thanks:confused:
