i'm trying to upgrade my bios, and i have the correct file on a floppy. when i open the ez-flash utility in the bios, i can see the a: and c: drives.

i can read the cd-rom, but it claims the bios-upgrade file on the cd-rom (that came with the motherboard) is in the wrong format. it can see the contents of the cd-rom just fine.

when i try it from the floppy, it can't see any of the files on the floppy.

it can tell me that the floppy is nameless, and in FAT format, but nothing else.

i'm running kubuntu, and i formatted the floppy with

    sudo mkfs.vfat /dev/sdb1

to make it fat32 (or at least some form of fat, it looks like).
