    hello

recently installed bitcomet to download torrents and everythings going great (ish). ive noticed though that since ive set up bitcomet my firewall has had amost 50 times more unsolicited connections to my pc than before.

whilst my mcafee firewall has reported no breaches yet im intersted in why the increase of attempted connections.

to give a rough idea. in the month before bitcomet, total attempted connections that month was around 2900. in the two weeks ive had bitcoment there has been over 40000 attempted connections, whilst my office computer receives none at all.

This is probably not the fault of BitComet, as using another BitTorrent client would probably have the same effect.

Could be that clients are trying to connect to you, but you have since closed the client so connections are then refused.

Or possibly that someone is using your IP to scan for open ports. But this is only a possibility, and is very unlikely.
