Hi all. Hope you'll be able to shed some light on a freaky problem I'm having. At random occassions I'm getting flickering horizontal lines across my screen, mainly concentrated at the top half. I immediately thought it was a hardware fault but after noticing a few things I'm starting to doubt it. Here are my observations:- 1. The lines are only noticable when having a mazimized web broswer window on my desktop containing images. If it's text only there are no lines. 2. If I have a non-maximized window I get no lines, but if I drag the window onto an area of the Desktop where there are icons in the background, the lines immediately reappear. They also disappear as soon as I drag the window away from the icons. 3. If I temporarily change resolution and then change it back, it -usually- gets rid of the lines. 4. If I use the 'Orientation' option in the Screen Resolution (Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Display) and change it to 'Flipped', then revert straight away to normal, the lines disappear. 5. When the lines are present - it's totally random, regardless of GPU load or uptime. I've had it as soon as I opened my browser from a cold boot, and after a few hours of gaming - leading me to believe it's not a hardware issue such as heating. I'm also getting no other performance-related problem which would indicate any hardware problem. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with the latest WHQL 191.07 drivers on a GTX295. I've tried older and beta drivers but the lines keep appearing. Anyone else experience anything similar?
I had quite the same problem with my monitor. You should try change the power supply cable before anything. It looks like this ->
