My fiance has just dumped this one in my lap and I'm looking for a couple of pointers. She was using Adaware on her HP Pavilion vf52, and suddenly it went dark. On rebooting, the monitor lights come on okay (and stay on), the Windows logo shows, but then it goes dark again, and stays that way. She's running XP with all the original hardware.
My first thought is that somehow the video driver has gotten corrupted, although with not being able to see what's happening, how would I put that right. Would booting up from the original disk help?
Or, if anything else comes to mind, I'd be very grateful to hear about it.
