Within this past week, I have had a BSOD error occur twice now. I'll take a picture next time if it happens again, but it mentions something like "error IRQ less or not equal" or words to that extent. I'm not too sure what has caused it to happen on both occasions, but I assume its a hardware problem. I do plan on formatting my system one day soon (just waiting for some blank DVDs to arrive so I can back up my data first) and have also contemplated clearing CMOS (I'll post a seperate topic on that in the motherboards forum). But yeah, does anybody have any information on this error at all? Thanks in advance!
I've just read through it, but I'm not entirely sure what it does and how to use it. Could you give me any further information at all? Have you used it before?
well, it test memory (RAM), basically you have two options dowload the .iso image and burn it to a CD download a floppy image and write it to a floppy then boot from either the floppy or CD and set it going, testing your memory (RAM) BTW: it's better to leave it overnight & if you have more than 1 stick of RAM run memtest separatly on each stick Edit: i mean remove all but 1 stick of RAM, and install and run memtest separatly on each stick of RAM
driver irql not less than or equal can be caused by allsorts. RAM is defiatly one possibilty. Microsoft used to have a support page on it but I cant seem to find it now.
[ot] True! they have changed their website contents a lot. There is a link to the event Viewer which is not not working now either. I dnt know wat the hell is going. Maybe someone has hacked their website and deleted/changed stuff....lol[/ot]
Let's take a step back... nanco, have a look in the Event Viewer for error messages. Please post them here. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > System
I have just done a complete format. No BSOD's as of yet. If I get any more, I'll post the details. Cheers for all the help!
