Snowboarding...must be nice. The last time I had a vacation was 8 years ago...but not into snowboards, I'd rather bush pack.
I've experienced the back packing, mainly in australia and newzealand - where as i've never been snowboarding - I've been skiing lots.. just not snowboarding
Laying on teh sand with swimming trunks + sand in my ear. Twice. Never been skiing or snowboarding, would like to go though.
I've been skiing like 3 times. Snowboarding 5 or 6. I like snowboarding a lot more, it's more of a challenge and jumps are fun
I'd probably like snowboarding if I ever tried it but I haven't...bushpackin' ( driving to a remote area and footin'it a mile or two into pristine forest full of black bears, cougars, or coyotes and settin' up camp ) can really bring you back and put things into perspective.
Yeh, it's probably more adventure than sport...like hunting but without the guns or the carcasses...Canada's got alot of wild areas left off the normal trails that campers and hunters use...probably not much wild land or forest left in the UK to go deep into the bush. If you go for a week or more you see the occasional bear, moose, deer, elk, wolf, cougars and coyotes are rare because they hide but you can see their eyes on a good night and hear them stalking around. And...no... they don't eat people or attack a campsite unless you're stupid enough to eat in your tent instead of burying your food or hanging it from a tree outside your camp. :good:
