    Hi!

I have a Panasonic toughbook. It has no OS on it. Also, I have a lite-on USB CD drive. How can I boot from it?

    Thanks!

Connect it to the laptop. Then enter the BIOS, and set the usb cd-drive as the first boot device.

No such option in the BIOS.

Okay, I got it to run via a Win 98 w/ USB boot diskette... but now, when installing, Setup copies several files onto the HD and then seems to freeze at the window, saying "Please wait while setup copies files to your hard disk" or something in that manor. Anyways, the HDD activity LED is glowing (probably indicates that the HDD is doing something), but like 15 minutes nothing happens. And if I press a button, it just beeps... wtf? :(

By the way, this is happening when I'm trying to install WinXP w/ SP2.

Done. Windows XP and 98 wouldn't install despite my attempts, so I tried Windows 2000 and it works. Just had to make a partition active (via Win98 boot diskette and the FDISK program). Hence - solved.
