boot problem

    had a new electric meter fitted this morn any way the goon never asked the missus if there was any appliance on so when he shut down the power the pc went off so whan i came to turn on it gets to the boot screen but took over an hour to load to desk top i re set the mobo clock etc but still have no idea whats going on can anyone help

    scan disk & defrag is all that immediately spring to mind

    You might even have to do a CMOS clear.

    cmos clear is that when u switch the plug over on the mobo then back again if so i done that allready.
