    Hello everyone,

I'm posting this here because I need some professional opinions,
So, At first let me explain what's my profession , I believe it helps,
I'm a security guy doing many stuff like discovering security vulnerabilities in web applications & in softwares, Programming security tools, Reverse Engineering malwares (like trojans) & Making Security lab scenarios for the classes i teach etc.
Each of these works need dedicated environments & special tools,
As of now I am using VMWare workstation on my laptop (1.6Ghz - i7, 8GB Ram - DDR3 , 500 GB HDD - 7200 RPM) which is not responding to this load nicely(no wonder!) .
I recently realized that I'm spending most of my time maintaining & solving problems about my VMs, Their performance issues, Space Issues, Change management, Version problems & so on.
Besides, Because of hardware limit, I can't get into more complex scenarios like where 10 to 12 VMs are needed to be powered on & Operating. (Like a deep breach scenario.)
The point is I'm really tired of this game & I'm going to invest on some sort of SOHO server!
As a result of my 3 days search, I believe HP Ml350 G8 with 2 CPU support is a good choice, Mainly because it allows me to extend it by adding another CPU later or adding more ram up to 192 GB.
I would like to know about your suggestions,
    Is it a good choice?
    Do I have better choices?
And One important question, How noisy is the ML350p G8?

    Thanks , buddies !

Here I'm asking about server platform (if I'm using the right word), I'm not worried about amount of ram or CPU now, I'll add them later when I have a good scalable platform. (& Silent if possible!)

I would look into a Dell Precision 690 Workstation.. You can get on pretty cheap and they will handle what you need to do..
