Hey! This is my first post here. :)

I've realized that I don't consume the most out of the bandwidth available to me and would really like to do so. So I thought of buying a seedbox but that would be a little expensive and no fun either. Plus my budget is low (I am a student) . Here's my concept, though tell me if i'm wrong.

I intend to buy a Thin Client [HP t5720/10 (more on why these models, later.)] .
I have a 80 GB laptop IDE lying around from an old laptop.
I can arrange for cables rather easily.

    So..

These guys (the Thin Clients) come with a 512 mb flash memory. Useless for me. So I'd remove that. I know for a fact that they use a 44 pin IDE pinout. I want to connect this with my Laptop IDE using a female-to-female.

Then I wanna power it up with Linux 7.10 (GG) .. or Maybe a stripped down version of Windows XP. Then use BitTorrent and some VNC client and hence create a torrentbox of sorts that consumes less power and lets me use my bandwidth to the fullest (eg- Leave it on during the night without any noise) .

Is this possible? Will the Thin Client hold enough computational power to run these two/three programs independently? I really don't know because Thin Clients are not familiar territory for me..

    Any help is appreciated. :)

    Thanks :D

PS: A little detail guidelines would help me even more!

Looking at the meager hardware requirements vs the actual somewhat meager hardware of a Thin Client, I'd say yes, it is possible. However, I can't help you with a guide as I can't say I've set one up before. Good luck, hope it works!
