Have been searching for a good set of speakers for my PC for a while but after a long search and no results... I've decided to use car speakers. Always seen them as good quality and provide the right amount of bass I'm looking for. Not a big PC gamer; just for the music. I've got a fairly basic Sound Card - just the one that came with the PC. So not sure what effects this will have on sound, and whether I will need to upgrade? This is the Plan.... I'll firstly buy a "Y" cable with a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack to 2 RCA phono plugs. These will connect the PC to a Car Amp (1000W). That's where I buy the Amp, I'll need a 12V AC power adaptor as they were originally intended for cars. Now I have the Amp powered and connected to the PC all I need to do is connect the Car Speakers and Sub, Right? Any thoughts? - Tommy
Buy some seperates, car audio is not that good quality, especially the car subs, whats your budget? sure its gonna be cheaper to buy a car sub and build an enclosure for it, but your going to need a propor HT plate amp for the sub aint you? Good PC speakers are the Logitech Z5500, the 10" sub is preety powerfull for a PC Speaker setup, capable of shaking stuff up preety good , its around 180-200 quid at the moment.
When u setup a car stereo system...u require 3 types of speakers... 1 for High Frequency Sound - Tutors 2nd For Medium frq sound - Speakers 3rd for Low freq sound - Woofers/subs and to get the best output of the whole system you requires atleast two Amps...1 for your internal speakers/tutors and 1 for your Sub... Then you get good quality sound...And if you want whole this thing with your computer to listen music, it will cost you heaps...more than 1500 Bucks, if u go with the good ones... One easy option is as willz stated in his post, buy multimedia speakers..Other is if you have a stereo system at your home then check at its back side if you can do RCA input to it... Buy a 3.2mm audio wire to RCA converter cable and hook ur pc with that System...
If you still wanna go car subs too, I think 2 Alpine Type R 12" 500W rms subs will be good, I think there around £105 each and seem to be amazing for the priuce they are.
