I am curious, does anyone know if an abit vt7 motherboard could handle a maxtor 250 gb hard drive? Due to a very long story that I do not care to repeat :p, I have discovered that my old maxtor drive is "failing", and compusa has a current deal going where you can buy a maxtor 250gb drive for 60 bucks after rebates. Having seen this, I am eager to pick it up.

However, I am not sure if the vt7 can handle this big of a hard drive. I have looked at abit's site and they list an 180.5 gig hard drive as the biggest one that has been tested. Normally I would just call or email tech support from the company, but the mobo manual seems to imply that English isn't exactly the preferred language to use when dealing with abit, so I am not sure if I will be able to get my questioned answered. Aside from this, the compusa deal only lasts for about another 2 days, so I am in kind of a hurry. Anyone know of any programs out there that could test for this, or does anyone have a vt7 and a 250 gb, or greater, hard drive?

To be honest I wouldn't recommend a Maxtor, but yes a VT7 can handle 250GB.
