My 'old' Dell was stolen from my car...and I subsequently purchased a new HP (dv5-1012nr). My question surrounds the fact that I had multiple extra ac adapters for my Dell (so I wouldnt' have to tote one to work, then back home, etc.)...however, the specs on the HP adapter are different: see below.

Thus, my question is whether it's 'safe' to use the Dell apapters (given the differenes in amps and voltage) on the HP? Note: the port sizes are the same and seemingly inserts fine (haven't done this when plugged in).

    HP Native Battery:
    90W
    Product Key: 384021-001
    Replace with HP Spare 391173-001
    Input: 100-240v ~ 2.4A (2.4A) 50-60Hz
    Output: 19V (19V) ---4.74A (4.74A)

    Dell Battery Replacement:
    65W-AC Adapter
    PA-12 Family
    Model number: PA-1650-05D2
    Input: AC 100-240V~1.5A (1.5A) 50-60Hz
    Output: 19.5V (19.5V) 3.34A (3.34A)
