Hello, My display shakes/trembles when I initially turn my PC on. After about 3-4 minutes the shaking reduces and eventually stops completley. Its as if once the PC has warmed up for a while it works fine, as if you restart the machine after this its ok. If you shutdown the computer and leave for around half an hour and turn back on the shaking/trembling reoccurs. I have tried a monitor that I know works and the shaking still occurs. Also I have altered refresh rates and checked the drivers are working, but still this initial trembling occurs. Can someone help me please?? Thanks, Andy.
I would have started by saying that the monitor is damaged, but on hearing that you have used another monitor with the same problems its most likely your graphics card. Make sure that your graphics card is correctly seated in it's PCI / AGP / PCIe slot and make sure that there is as little dust surrounding the card / slot as possible then try. If your receive the same problem, i would try a different graphics card and see if you have the same problem, if you have the same problem you know that its therefore the PCI / AGP / PCIe slot that you have been using is damaged or faulty. If it works with a different graphics card, you know its your old graphics card that is faulty. If it's PCI you should have atleast one other slot that you could use, try this, if it's onboard graphics (ie its built in) you will need to get a new graphics card as its faulty. However before you do any of this, i would highly recommend borrowing someone else's graphics card to test, before you go out and spend that sort of money. When i suggest to try different "slots" out, if you have a graphics card it is most likely an AGP card (use's a brown looking slot). If it's a PCI card, it can only fit in PCI slots (the white one's), and if your computer is quite new and your using PCIe, the slot will be black. Motherboards come with 2-5 PCI slots (white slots-depending if it's mATX or ATX sized), and only the 1 AGP slot. - Newere motherboards that use PCIe, will have 1-2PCIe slots (black) and 2-5 PCI slots.
