I would like for someone to help me understand something about ram,,, mainly why is a 1gb stick labled so if it transfers at say 4GBps. at the minute in my head as you open programs they take up space on the ram, so if i had 4gig ram and had some programs open that take up say 2.5 it would leave 1.5gig for other uses. so where does the GBps come in to effect?, For example if i had: OCZ Technology 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666 1333MHz Gold Low Voltage (OCZ Technology 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666 1333MHz Gold Low Voltage (OCZ3G1333LV4GK) - dabs.com) then i would have 4gig ram with transfer speeds of 10.7GBps, this is what i dont get?? also since i had 2 sticks would it give me 21.4GBps or do they work together to produce the 10.7? Also is there a way for me to tell how much Resouces certain things take up?, like if i had photoshop, illustrator, word and exel open how would i tell how much ram my sytem is useing?
