OK, when I try to add another 512 megs of ram to my GA-K8NS board the computer will start up and say I have 1 gig of memory ok and I can not do anything else, not enter the bios or anything. I use the same brand of ram PC 2700 and made for the same company(Kingston). I then asked a fried to try his ram PC-3200 same type and manufacture, show memory ok but freeze like before. Turned my bios to default and still can't upgrade. If I have one stick of memory in the second or third dimm slot only the computer will not start up, it has to be in the first one for it to start. But if I have 2 sticks in the mem test ok 1 gig, but will freeze?

My board is 3 months old, is my dimm slots fried?

I very much doubt that your memory is "fried" try running 1 piece of memory in Slot 1, and the other in slot 3.

Run 1 piece in Dimm#1 (nearest your CPU) and 1 piece in Dimm#3
This will run in Dual Channel and should work :good:

If this does not work i would check YOUR memory works in your Friends computer, if it does then you know its your motherboard - and it needs to be returned.
