Again, thanks you for your help with the monitor... I still have the original problem of not being able to display web pages. The modem check result is a "pass" There is a dial tone and dialing noises. The little monitor icons in the Task Bar Tray light up briefly when connecting. In Properties, only a few bits move, and then they stop. The dialog box says I am connected. (If I don't give a specific DNS address, I cannot connect) Internet Explorer can't display webpages and can'tfind a server. Although there is a network icon and network setup is possible, this computer is on its own. (Dell Dimension 4300 - Win2000 Pro) Am I missing something really obvious? Any ideas? [....or, hopefully, more miracles?]
