can't get multiplier over 13..

i just built my system and i tried to overclock it to about 2.3 - 2.4. but i can't get my multiplier above 13. Do i have to unlock it? and if so, how?
 
Yeah it's probably locked but 13 is too high anyway. You're better off increasing the FSB. I know your ram limits you but you'll gain more overall performance by ocing the FSB.
 
See if you're able to drop the multiplier. I believe that you'll need to unlock it to go over the 13x multiplier. Most people opt to drop the multiplier very low and jack the FSB quite high, and this does do wonders for performance since the RAM and the CPU speeds are increased. Also, I believe that most nForce 2 boards automatically unlock most Athlon XP's...except for like the very newest ones (but that's been gotten around already).
