Ok then after getting my Athlon pc working again all that was left to do was test it by installing some games. I installed one 3d heavy game but when i tried to start it it told me that i had no 3d hardware! I checked the display and it couldn't find any adapter. So i installed the nvidia drivers that used to work. Installation went fine and then i restarted...
Gets past the XP loading screen and ... two black strips appear at the top like in the old movies and the middle part is a black but slightly flickering screen. Doesn't respond. So my only option was to start windows again under the last known good config. It worked and loaded but my GFX still wasn't being recognised. I'm really getting annoyed at this because i have a pretty good card (compared to the integrated one i've been using lately) and i can't use it for games.
One other thing, when i'm looking at a folder with lots of files and i need to scroll down, the redraw rate is really slow. This happens also in wordpad documents. I'm guessing its the drivers not being installed. But if i install them i can't boot up, if i don't then i can't play games. Is there any other drivers for nvidia cards like there's omega drivers for ATi?
