My CD Drive can not read any disks except for when i'm booting using the disks. It reads disks only for that moment right after i have installed a fresh copy of xp, after doing 1 or 2 restarts the drive is visable but can't read any disks. when using bootable disks like Linux, Windows XP etc.. it does seem to read them at the boot menu, hence thats why i can re-install OS.
