cd rom dvd problem

i have two computers and one the cd rom is not detected when i click on my computer icon and explore what is on my computer and the other one has a dvd writer the brand is nec corportation what can i do to fix these problems i have checked the cables and still nothing :confused:
 
could you try the cd-rom drive in different computer to see if it works?

btw: your question does not make much sense, so you might to reword it.
