you need to have a CDr or a CD RW / DVD RW drive, what drive do you have ?

generally drive automatically detect the type (readable only or writeable too) of disc inserted into a drive

It will say on the front door of the cdrw, or it will say on the cd case.
open the case up and take a look at the CD/roms make and model..

For this thing you need a CDRW or DVDRW then and you can check it with a Nero or any cd Burning software easily wheather its readable or wrietable......
