Hey, i recently purchased a readymade pc, it's got an intel celeron D 3.20ghz 1024mb ddr ram, with integrated gfx and sound, i was wondering if i upgrade my sound card and graphics card what game would i possibly be able to play? i'm not looking to play anything intense but it would be nice to play some pc games, so some information on what range of games the pc would be able to handle would be very much appreciated thank you all very much
You dont really have to spend money on a sound card as most integrated ones are good enough anyway. The chances are it will boil down to the graphics card you end up buying. I wouldn't have thought the celeron will cause you too much trouble. Generally speaking the faster the CPU the better, but its not everything when it comes to games. If your happy reducing the image quality in games most relatively recent cards will play most games. Ive been playing BF2142 and FEAR on basically a laptop over the last couple of weeks. If a laptop can play new games your PC with a new graphics card certainly will!
awesome is there a chance that you could suggest a decent graphics card....i'm running gentoo linux and would rather not ever switching back to windows so something with drivers for linux would be nice, i heard nvidia made good cards for linux but as my level of hardware exp is very limited i would like somewhat of a nudge in the right direction thanks again brad
