hi all, need a little advice on using my pc abroad- am moving to south korea from the UK in august, and was planning on shipping my pc over there at some point. however, have no idea about power supplies etc, and need to know whether i will need to change up my psu so it will work in s.korea. obviously i will need to change the plug/lead so it will fit the 2-pin sockets, but will i also need to change the psu or are they universal? currently in the UK, so power is 240V and 50hz (3-pin) in korea it is apparently 220V and 60hz (2-pin) any advice on this would be greatly appreciated as i am a bit of a dunce when it comes to stuff like this! cheers.
Does the power supply have a small red switch with numbers on the back (where you connect the power)?
no, i think it'll be fine, UK Voltage is actually 220V and the difference in Htz will not be a problem (i think) BTW: you could use a universal adapter to use our 3 pin plugs in their 2 pin sockets
cheers for the info guys, will probably just ship it accross as is with its 3-pin plug and an adapter for now, though if i wanted to could i just replace the power lead with a 2-pin plug at a later date without changing the psu? (just found out its a Hiper 480W Type-R if that helps) thanks again.
