well, yesterday i got my new 3700+ san diego AMD 64 with 1mb l2 catch, and gigabyte K8NSC, and i thought i had to wait untill christmas, but my dad let me have the parts early so we knew they worked, well, now the full potential of my X800XT PE graphics card in unlocked and everything is rite, the Stock cpu is brilliant, why dont intel make theres like AMD, this stock cooler is almost silent, my idle temperatures are 18-30 degrees. i decided to use Easy Tune 5 for overclocking the cpu, got it to 2.6ghz, and temperature was 30 degrres idle, and at stock speeds, the temperature is still 30 degrees, i am very pleased with this cpu, and even though i only have 512mb ram now, feels like i still have 1gb of ram in!. ran 3d mark 05, got 6100 at stock speeds on cpu, then 6500 on 2.6ghz overclock. aquamark 3 i got 67,000 on stock, then 70,000 ons tock, then overclocked it and got 77,000. 3d mark 01, got 25,000 and 3d mark 03 got 13,000, so i have got alot better performance. problems though are there is no fan speed control, but i suppose that can be sorted out fairly easily. so, here are my new specs, i will write them down, more clear than siggy and my computer. AMD 64 3700+ SAN DIEGO @ 2.6ghz~(1.4v~stock) GigaByte K8NSC mobo Hiper Type-R 580W PSU 512MB pc3200 400mhz ram (1GB now and then, but other 512mb is in old rig for moment) ASUS AX800XT PE (RADEON X800XT PE) 410GB total storage 250GB x 160GB NEC DVD-RW TV-tuner/Freeview.
Hehe, ty , serving me well, i can now play GTA San Andreas at full settings without it lagging, i am glad to get shut of intel on my main computer!
