I am donating my old laptop and want to clean/format/clear all my info off it. How do I do that? I have all the disks that came with it to reinstall all necessary programs.

Is the Laptop up and running?
What OS is on it? If its 98 or Me just use the windows bootable floppy.
Bootdisk.Com - Free NTFS Bootdisk, Boot Disk, Windows Bootdisk, XP Bootdisk, DOS Bootdisk

If its XP or 2000 id get the model number from device manager and download the manufacturuers tools.

There are other ways (you might be able to use the 98 bootable floppy disk even if you do have xp installed) but this is probably easiest. You could download the floppies for xp or 2000 from the site I linked to above but at some point you get asked for the xp/2000 install cd and I cant remember if its before or after you format. The 2000 disks are 4 floppies and will do the job even if you have xp installed. There are 6 xp floppies so you might as well use the 4.
