Hi, Guys, Im Ne To The Forum I Have A Issue With A Comp Of Mine.

I Put A DVD-ROM In My PC And It Turned On Ok. And When I Connected The Mouse, Keyboard It Frooze And It Did Not Want To Proceed. I Disconnect The Keyboard And It Does Not Freeze And It Boots My WinXP Pro Disk To Reformat The PC. I Want To Know Whats Causing This Problem With The Keyboard Because It Was Working Earlier. I Have A HP Pavilon PC. And They DVD-ROM Was From An OLD PC I Think Thats Not The Problem, So Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

    Thanks

Umm..if it's a ps/2 keyboard you don't want to boot and then plug in the keyboard. Plug everything in, then boot.

What's the model of you HP?

It is possible, and I have found this frequently enough to be annoying that HP does not provide sufficient IRQ's for upgrades. The DVD drive that you installed...is it just a Rom and did you already have a CD-Rom installed?

Simply, are there two ptical drives now or just one.

If you have two drives now, then I would probably say that the IRQ's are full during boot, and unfortunately the keyboard/mouse IRQ's are getting the boot.

Let me know about the hardware first, then we will proceed.
