    Does anyone know how I can compare 2 spreadsheets?

    ie Spreadsheet A is old and the Spreadsheet B is new. A has stuff B hasnt so bits need to be deleted from A and B has stuff A hasnt so bits need to be added to A. A modified, up to date A is the one I want.

    Im using Quattro Pro because it can support more columns than Excel but its otherwise the same really. I know you can get programs which compare excel files but im not sure they wiil cater for the extra columns.

    Many Thanks

    no, but you would need to create a third spreadsheet, i don't remember exactly how to do this, so i could very esily be wrong, but here goes, in the cell/s in the third sheet you created type:
    Code:
    if="path to filename 1"!"sheet name"!"cell range"="path to filename 2"!"sheet name"!"cell range",,
    no i can't remember
    sorry

    Thanks Donkey.
    I might just have to do it by hand because they are big spreadsheets and I used up all my RAM and most of my pagefile just from sorting by name instead of number. I got out of memory buttons flashing up n everything.

    Yeah, I know how you feel. I have to compare 2 .csv files in Excel at least every other week to match stock; its a headache alright:p
