I have about a 3 year old eMachine T4200 pentium 4, 2.0 ghz. It came with nvidia TnT2, I recently purchased the radeon 9200 128mb and after installing it, my computer would reboot anytime i tried playing a game or changing the settings on my display. I thought i had updated the display drivers and drivers for the motherboard/chipsets. Did i install the wrong drivers and how can i make sure not to do that again. I know i have intel 845 chipset but dont know the motherboard. the mother board uses Phoenix BIOS 4.0 release 6.0 and i have the BIOS ID 31811.em.0000.d.01122613319. What should i try? Thanks in advance

try unistalling all the graphics driver you have and recently updated drivers and reinstalling fresh copies either of the disk or up to date one direct from the manufactorers web site (recommened) after doing this if it still does not work check the temperature of your computer to check it is not overheating in any way. if your graphics card as a fan instead of a heatsink it may need its own link to the power supply, did u connect this when you installed it? if not do that and that should cure it. post back if it does'nt work Dave :good:

Thanks for the help, reinstalled chipsdet and APG drivers. Had a hard time with this and not sure if i got the right ones. I have a board form TriGem Computer, Inc., Dublin. Using Phoenix BIOS. From what I have learned Phoenix is not friendly. Intel chipset 845. got any ideas to find out what updates I truly need. As far as temp, whatis the easiest way to measure this. Thanks again.

you can downlaod a programs that tell you your cpu temp case temp etc or on some mobo press delete immidiatly a few time toget into bios and have a scan thorugh the menus and it will be in there somewhere, but this only works on certain motherboards. hope this helps Dave :good:
