Hi,
I've got this computer for a few months. It's been operating normally but occasionally makes some very strange rattling sound. It's hard to describe, but it's not that loud and sounds like something is vibrating inside.
I can't seem to find the association with the sound. Sometimes it happens even before I turn on the computer (but the power is already on). The sound seems to be from somewhere near the harddrive. Whether the computer is working under high load or not doesn't seem relevant. It starts and stops any time.
Sometimes it happens when I rest my arms on the desk, and stops when I get them out. My desk is quite steady, so pushing on it doesn't cause any *visible* movement of the surface. Actually if I hadn't heard the sound going on and off, I wouldn't have known I changed the surface somehow.
Have any of you experienced this problem? What is that? Is it dangerous? Many thanks.
