Recently there was a power outage, and now everything connected to my computer turns on. monitor, speakers, modem etc. The only thing that will now turn on is the computer itself. Everything is connected to a surge protector and when I turn on the switch everything comes on ok, a message on my monitor screen reads your monitor is working correctly please check computer power and cables. I am confused since the whole system was working fine until the power went out and then came back on. Any help at all on this will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Donna
Hi Donna I am no expert geek but it sound like your computer fried.. :swear: Please check my post - http://www.hardwareforums.com/showthread.php?t=5840 Open the case and look inside while you are trying to power up. What is happening if anything at all? Power surge protection or not, unless you are using a constant power supply, power surges or outages can still effect your PC.
