Speed? Yes. Price? Yes. Performance? Depends on what, but most likely yes.

    The XP 3000+ has either a 333 or 400MHz FSB vs the 266MHz for the XP2200+. There's also a larger L2 cache, 512kB vs 256kB.

The AMD Athlon T-Bird 2200+ has specs of:
    CPU Frequency: 1800MHz
    L1 Cache Size:128KB
    L2 Cache Size:256KB
    Front Side Bus:133MHz(DDR266)

The AMD Athlon XP 3000+ has specs of:
    CPU Frequency: 2167MHz
    L1 Cache Size:128KB
    L2 Cache Size:512KB
    Front Side Bus:200Mhz (DDR400)

There is a difference, bare in mind if you do upgrade to this processor you will need PC3200 speed memory (preferably in Dual Channel) to gain the maximum of this new Processor.

The Barton core's also being equipped with more cache will handle games better than the TBred Bs.(Despite the slightly lower clockspeed)
