As the title says, I have an s3000e desktop computer that's is almost exactly as I got out of the box, the only difference being a ram upgrade from 1GB to 2GB (512MB X 2 to 1GB X 2) and now I've been wondering if i can get my old AMD Sempron 3600+ processor out and get in an AMD Athlon X2 dual core processor. My motherboard is an Asus M2NC51-AR (Hematite-XL) and the CPU socket is an AM2 So if anyone could please recommend me a decent and cheap dual core processor that is compatabile with this machine, I would greatly appreciate it =] edit: I found the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ which is dual core and 2.8Ghz to be attractive since it's not too expensive and seems to be compatible with my computer, however I would like to make sure it is before the purchase.
