C¦NET has an interesting artical on trial software and other crap that get's bundled on new computer systems: That new PC that's running slower than the old one it replaced might be weighed down with several applications destined to gather dust on the desktop. PCs are becoming increasingly cluttered with preinstalled software--in some cases the traditional trial offers for Internet service providers like AOL and EarthLink, but also newer applications like spyware-blocking tools which, somewhat ironically, inundate users with pop-up windows advertising their services. Story continued here I remember when I bought my eMachines 3220 computer back in 2004. It was packed with lousy free trial antivirus and gimmicky 'fix your computer in five minutes' utilities. Not to mention the virus like AOL and MSN explorer software. I don't want to have to clean up other people's mess - it's my computer for God's sake!
