Has anyone seen the new FPS crysis. I believe it was made by the Farcry people. I never played any far cry but have heard nothing but good about it. The only thing I have seen of this game is a trailer showing your character battling a giant War of the worlds tripod look alike. This game is scheduled for release fall of this year Also it is to run on dx 10
Yes, I've seen it. It's developed 3 brothers Yerli after they made the X-Ilse engine. They got contracted by Nvidia at E3. They made the tech demo for gforce 3. After that, everything went really fast for them; They got contracted by Crytek and Ubisoft to make Far Cry. They weren't allowed to develop a 2nd installment i.e. Farcry2 since Ubisoft still owns the rights and thus they've left Ubisoft and are now working on Crysis. There's a technology demo and some more stuff available for download through this link. As FarCry had quite high system requirements when it 1st came out, I'm guessing this game will need the newest hardware available to run flawlessly when Crysis is released.
Well the interesting thing is all those tech demos are just showing off DX 9 era graphics. There are now DX 10 cards, available, and no WinVista to support them so all those demos are displaying phenominal DX 9 graphics which is pretty amazing really to think we'll see even more improvements. FarCry scalled back very well to older hardware. Even on lower settings it looked like BattleField Vietnam more or less, but today even lowerend cards can crank the settings so I think we'll see a pretty good balence between requirements vs. performance/visual quality in this iteration.
