Searched the forum, didn't find a similar topic or an answer to my question, so here goes:
What would CUDA bring to my pc (I have an eligible nVidia GPU) ?
I know of better in game physics, but don't really know what that means. What else does it do? How do I get it ?(went on the nVidia website, the only download I saw was one exactly the same size as the most up to date drivers, would that mean that the new drivers include CUDA?)
Sorry, I did google it, went to the wiki page etc. but I still haven't figured it out...

knowing the way these companies work thats probably because all NVidia drivers contain support for CUDA but it is disabled in non CUDA cards

it basically adds like another layer for programmers to play with, i'll find out exactly what it does

    this explains it

BTW: i haven't read it yet

Ok, I'm starting to understand a little more... Thanks for the link. I did try the sdk thing I found on the nVidia website, tried certain animations and other apps included to test CUDA's capabilities. It was obvious the GPU (an 8800 GTX) was working hard as the fan was making noise.
Amazingly the GPU is better at certain things than the CPU...

^protein folding, it helps cure cancer, and adds a competition factor to it. I fold, anyway. Cuda is in the drivers and as far as i know doesn't do much to help with physics. Physx and havoc do much much more then it.
