    Hi all,

Have had a bit of an event with a sparkly new pricessor and im a bit distressed, if anyone can help it would be appreciated. New I5 processor arrived this morning which I installed and was working great. I noticed a drop in performance after several hours of use, frame rates went from 30-40 ish to 10 ish and I discovered it was due to a molex cable stopping the fan from operating. BIOS the temp as a whopping 97C which returned to normal after the blockage was removed.

After doing this the PC is working and does not blue screen or anything but my FPS in games appears to be slightly lower.

Is this possible? if it was fried would it not work at all or is it possible that it might be slightly impaired from overheating?

Cant figure out if its my imagination or not! if anyone could help i would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

In addition I have noticed that the windows on the desktop seem to stutter slightly when I move them and they were smooth before. Its a CRT monitor too so it isn't because of the monitor. Can a damaged CPU cause this kind of behaviour?
