My old computer started turning off randomly and then one day, stopped turning on at all. It was an Xp home. I just bought a new 32 bit vista and i was wondering how i could get data from the old hard drive onto my new one. Will the vista-xp thing be a problem? i also have a flash drive that could be used to transfer the data if that helps...
Also, it'd probably be fair to mention that i no next to nothing about hardware.

    Thanks

Yeah, you can use that USB you are having to transfer the data from old drive to new drive. But, if you have already installed Vista and due to which you are facing data loss then you need to use Kernel Windows Recovery software. This software will scan the hard disk and recover all the data.
