ddr problem

    i have an msi k7ns delta n2 with 256 ddr 333. now when i add any other mem my pc wont boot, ive tried differnt mem in all the slots, but it wont boot, i thought other mem was faulty cos it wouldnt boot on its own, but was ok in another pc,so my pc just seems to work with this one stick of mem, i put a new 256 in today and after i while it booted up, but after i put the old stick back in with it, it wouldnt boot

    Are you sure that the RAM you're trying to install is at least DDR333 (PC2700)? If the stick is slower than the minimum FSB speed then it will not boot. Also try not to mix speeds, although they should work fine sometimes you do get problems.

    That motherboard has been finicky with RAM, but you might see about updating the BIOS as that may fix some RAM errors. I know early on, it had issues with Kingston DDR. The other thing you'll want to check is that the RAM is at least the same speed as the stuff you already have.

    I'd test all the RAM in a known working system and run [google]Memtest[/google].
