    Hello all,

    I have the following querey,
I have en ECS K7S5A ver 1 MOBO, with an AMD 1600+ cpu that until recently was running 2x256MB of pc133 SDRAM which was fine accept most games now require at least 512MB of DDR.
So I used crucial's memory tool on their website to find a compatible upgrade, and ended up buying 2x 512MB sticks of PC2700 DDR,(CT6464Z335)
The problem I have is my PC seems slower than before!!:eek:hah:
Is there anything I have to change in the BIOS or should it just be "plug and play"
It just seems wierd to me that 512MB of SDRAM ran quicker than 1GB of DDR.
Unfortunately I cant put the SDRAM back in as I used one of the sticks in a pc I cobbled together for my brother!
    Cheers

You may want to make sure that there's no jumpers you have to set. I don't remember if there were any jumpers on the K7S5A or not, so disregard if it doesn't apply.

I'd look and make sure the FSB:RAM (may also be something like CPU:RAM) is set to a 1:1 ratio and that your FSB is running at 133/266MHz (depending on what scale they use).

You may also have some spyware/virus too. Scan for those and see if you come up with anything.
