    Hi

None of the available mobos I've seen support higher than PC-6400, though I'd like to get higher as I've seen they exist... Could someone tell me whether the mobo can support it somehow even though it doesn't specify it supports higher ram?

Okay, RAM ratings (PC-xxxx) are like tire speed ratings: they indicate the maximum speed they are guaranteed to work at, but will run fine at slower speeds. A tire that's guaranteed to work at 150MPH will be fine at 40MPH.

Motherboard companies only list official JEDEC memory speeds at the release of the motherboard. As long as it's the same type (ie. DDR2, RDRAM, etc), your motherboard should support it. The frequencies of higher speed RAM are not chiseled in stone for motherboard support. The only issue that could come up is if the RAM requires a certain voltage to operate at the advertised speed and you use a motherboard that does not allow for that high of voltage---which is typically the budget motherboards, not enthusiast class ones.

So, yes, your motherboard should have no trouble with PC2-10000 or other high speed memory. However, if you're not overclocking, you won't make use of the extra official headroom.
