Hello, My girlfriend's PC seems to be freezing at 25% completed when she tried a defrag the other day. I have to tell you that I checked her PC's specs the other day because she said the PC was running slow (believe me it was!). I was 'amazed' to find that she is running XP on a 533 MHz processor with 128 MBs of RAM - yes, I kid you not folks! I'm kind of thinking that the latter might have something to do with the defrag problems?
CHeck and see how much empty space does she got in the HDD...Also I dont think that its good to expect good speeds from such a system when u can see the specs are very low hah:
I would check how many processes she is running in the background and disable all the unnessacary ones. To expand on Karni's point, you need at least 15% free hard drive space to perform a successful defragmentation.
