Can somebody tell me if useing a defrag program for winxp sp2 is worth doing. If yes, what defrag software is good to get. Please help with this question. Thank You
Windows has a built in defragger, that, whilst slow, is there and will do the trick. You could also check out DIRMS (I think). Check the "Free Software Thread" in General Software, B posted a link.
Also, there's a defragger, Buzzsaw, that works in the background that you can d/l for free at the DIRMS site Sniper linked. It works really well and uses almost no resources.
O&O Defrag I've found has worked the best for me. I've tried Disk Keeper and Norton and O&O has been the only one to do a 100% defrag on a really messed up drive. Haven't tried DIRMS is it any good? Kind of skeptical on most free software.
