"Bloody hell! It is scary. I will never buy a laptop for myself....Bla bla!" Reality! without a proof I will never accept these kind of talks.
Oh yea but I m not taking their side. I know they sucks, I have a tower CPU and its lying down under my monitor like Small form factor just because a stantart PSU doesnt fits under Dells CPU. So its hanging outside and I hate this shit.
Not all of their cases are slim or small form factors, just ones that are meant to be easily tucked away.
Ahh! I am not taking about their Cases......Just their PSU's. They are not like standard one and if I order a new one will cost me 200NZD. I can buy an A8N SLI mobo in this much amount of money.
Y'know I wasn't even aware that a laptop could just explode like that of it's own accord! And to think that i was considering buying a Dell laptop a few months back
Then the other company which you trust will have two Laptops burstout like that. I dont think so that guessing about whole company with one disaster is good. You dont know there could be anything happned. He might have dropped some water on the laptop or he might have some other company's add on in his laptop. do you?
Well..... don't know what to say! Unless some explosives were actually planted into the laptop for this PR hit, I can't see how the laptop can explode.
There is always a fuse in the PSU's, so if any shortcircuit happens current will stop and nothing more disasterous should be happen. But exploding of so many times for 5mins seems to be a joke to me.
Well its not a joke. It seems that an overheating lithium battery leaked and caused the explosion. Plus, how can you fake something like that?
I've been considering getting a Dell laptop for University (because of how cheap they are and what you can get for the price) Makes you think twice... Although this is only 1 laptop.
Nic's reply made me reconceder and I decided to get rid of my stupid reply. It was in extremely bad taste and I apologise if I offended anyone. Sorry...... Fingers quicker than brain....
Good point! It will increase their sales tremendously. They might have never targeted that area...lol
Just a quick update on this story: The cause for explosion was the Lithium Ion battery and not all of those cheap components that Dell use in their laptops
