well, i've being to dentist, 2 hour to pull 1 tooth, but the dentist knows best[ot]although he worked for his money, he was sweating like a pig[/ot]the young girl who tried first didn't have much luck trying to pull the tooth, & she was no weakling[ot]it must have being happy where it was[/ot]BTW: just got a hole in my mouth, and it's still numb[ot]thankfully[/ot]

I've had teeth pulled, but I've been well sedated during the procedure. Mine weren't settled in, but they were enough to where they could yank them. The whole procedure was supposed to take about 30 minutes, but I dunno. I came to around 10:30, and they started drugging me up a little after 9. It wasn't cheap (about $400US for those drugs) but well worth the money spent.

If you do run into pain, Ibuprofen works pretty well. I started having a lot of pain about 3 days afterwords and cashed in the Vicodin prescription. Between that and the Ibuprofen, I was able to sleep and be able to do work.

I am booked into the dentist next month. Hopefully I've been brushing my teeth to a reasonable standard. I've got no fake teeth yet! :D

Same here. Unfortunately, I don't have a big enough mouth to sufficiently accomodate wisdom teeth, so they had to go. I gotta get a couple caveties filled too, but I'd like to clean up the bill on what I have so far. I'm glad as hell for having dental insurance.

Not a filling in sight here :D Shocking really, I smoke and only brush my teeth once a day usually. I have never eaten sweets or fizzy drinks though so.....

Well, it may partially have something to do with your genes. My mom has had to have a lot of dental work done. On the opposite side, my dad has had very little that I'm aware of. I have a few fillings, but most of those were due to not flossing regularly. I got a couple new ones, but given that it's been 4 years since I was at the dentist before about a month ago, I should've expected more problems. If I had more of my mom's genes, I'd probably need a crown or two plus fillings. I had a filling come out the other day, but I have to go in to get a couple cavaties taken care of, so it's not a big deal. I'm giving my insurance one hell of a workout. :p
